Among my qualifications for entertainment critic are these: I own a clarinet, I have drawn a still life with a bass clarinet—not my own—in the background (I struggled with my depiction of the register key), I had an acquaintance who was cast in a movie about Japanese internment camps because he was a skillful clarinetist; he had to shave his head and pretend to be malnourished.
